Located in the heart of Old Quebec, Le Diamant theatre is a unique cultural venue, part of the city’s architectural heritage. The structure was constructed by demolition of 3 buildings, preserving however two former heritage facades. It is erected on a site area of 20,600 sq. ft. and amounts to 600+ tons of steel. The building comprises of 2 theatre spaces which can accommodate 600 people. Brainstorm Infotech was responsible for the entire Structural and Miscellaneous steel detailing. Key features of the structure include large frame ends connected to walls, skewed curtain walls and a skewed glass roof.
All steel frames are connected to concrete walls which made the coordination with the concrete site dimensions quite challenging. The project was executed in 13 sequences, all of which were detailed and released for fabrication in less than 10 months.
