Sport for Life Centre in Winnipeg, Canada is a 5-storey and 124,000 sq. ft. commercial sports facility which features three fully convertible court spaces, strength and conditioning areas, aerobic training space, plyometric training and testing, and an indoor training track.
The foundation is cast-in-place and there is a second floor supporting structure. A clean span roof joist system accentuates the open atrium from the second floor courts up to the roof level. The structure was built as an addition to an existing heritage building.
Interior steel is mostly curved to accommodate the stadium structure which adds up to more than 700 tons of structural steel.
